It got really late as I was finishing these cupcakes the night before Halloween. That's my excuse for the short bus cobwebs. They were a huge hit at work, though. There were lots of happy campers as I walked to the kitchen randomly giving people little spiders in the afternoon.
Earth vs. the Spiders!
I got the idea for these from somewhere on the internets. I can't remember where to be honest, but I think it might have been Martha Stewart's site.
Both of the cupcakes are from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World. The spiders are basic chocolate with Fluffy Vegan Buttercream Frosting tinted grey. I used cinnamon candies for the eyes and licorice strings for the legs. The spiderwebs are Pumpkin Chocolate Chip with Cinnamon Frosting. I just made a little extra of the frosting and tinted it black to make the cobwebs. I also made sure to put some extra baby in the cupcakes for flavor. After all, they were Halloween cupcakes.
